Experience shows that mediation, in the appropriate case,
saves time, money and controls risk. Mediation is a dispute
resolution process mandated by the federal court in Vermont
and, increasingly, by New Hampshire and Vermont state courts.
The process can also be voluntarily activated by the parties
involved, outside of the court setting.
Disputes most frequently resolved through mediation include
complex business negotiations, commercial transactions and
personal injury claims.
Potter Stewart, Jr. was chosen to participate in the first

has conducted over eighty mediations and remains engaged in
providing mediation services, as a complement to his legal
practice.
